I didn’t call you a name I described your actions. I also freely referred what I commented as an anecdote. You can accept that I have heard other people use that phrase or don’t I don’t care. But using a search screenshot that didn’t return the article we are commenting on and then ignoring that isn’t making the argument you think it is.
You looked for the phrase that is literally in the article and when nothing came back you still assumed that it showed you everything? With this incongruous search result you then decided to challenge my anecdote? I don’t have any time left for trolls today.

I have heard both directed and distributed. They both make sense to me as a description of the attack.
You don’t need to know what it is for it to be recognizable in a row of icons. Also it’s pretty low res here compared to what it looked like contemporarily.
I wasn’t referring specifically to the iWork apps. They are all in rounded squares now, like Tahoe won’t even allow apps to not be in a rounded square. Folder, stack, Launchpad, or Dock doesn’t matter, it was still easier to find what you were looking for when all icons were allowed to be their own shape and before this weird trend of abstraction in icons.
You are trolling right? The orange gradient pencil shape is extremely abstract, even compared to the older icons right next to it. But the point here is that distinct shapes are easier to tell apart than rounded squares with similar simple lines.
The ink pot was way easier to tell apart from the other icons than the generic rounded squares.
That would likely mean civil war. For instance, I can’t see the Lighthorses (Tribal Police, technically somewhat federal in jurisdiction) where I am from allowing that, and I imagine there would be similar resistance elsewhere.
You are missing the point. You need to be able to tell what it is in context with the icons next to it quickly. How archaic you think it is doesn’t matter.

The ink pot is far more easily and quickly recognizable than an orange stick on a black background. It was also transparent… making it all the more baffling why they didn’t bring icons like that back when introducing Liquid Glass.

This is a lot more true now than it was in the olden days of hard drive fragmentation and rapidly increasing minimum spec requirements. (For instance the computer my family bought in 1996 had a mind blowing 16mb of ram, Win ME released in 1999 with a 32mb RAM requirement.)
In my experience people who let work violate the personal life boundary have issues with other boundaries and are generally difficult to work with.
