That’s really a fun and catchy song!
That’s really a fun and catchy song!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the music video features SHELTER, the Shimokitazawa live house which gained fame as the IRL inspiration for Bocchi the Rock’s STARRY.
I didn’t know that one yet. It’s also great, thank you!
That band really seemed to have come out of nowhere with this song, at least according to their YouTube channel… It is a really catchy song though! Their subsequent releases didn’t become quite as successful, but they’re worth keeping an eye on!
Just listened to it, that’s a really nice track! 👌
Btw if you could also add/edit the artist and song title in romaji in the post, that would be perfect. Sorry to bother you again, I should have written this in my first comment.
Hey, I think your post somehow only has the picture but no link. Could you add/edit that?
Yes, I watched it (the first season at least) and quite liked it. It’s what brought on this post basically. I had decided to watch it when I was looking for my next idol anime after my “gateway drug” Zombieland Saga, and the connection to that via Minami Tanaka, and also that I vaguely remembered Yoshino Aoyama was part of it, were what gave the impulse.
There are also a few Wake Up, Girls! anime movies that I couldn’t watch yet, and a continuation series “Shin Sou”. The drastically altered character designs in the latter unfortunately felt off-putting to me, after the more realistic style of the first season.
Sorry for replying so late, I first wanted to get a better impression of their evolution for myself. I think as a general rule, I like their more recent stuff more? Image, Take Me Out, A.M.D.K.J. - the more rock styled songs. I also really like Mirror, as a recent slower song. But among their earlier stuff, Shunkan Sentimental is also great. I also kind of like Scandal Baby, while Shoujo S does nothing for me… it’s pretty random. Though I have to say that the blatant pushing of their schoolgirl image in their earlier videos and concerts is a bit off-putting to me. I mean they were basically schoolgirls back then, but still… I prefer the later stuff where they show their individuality.
Absolutely timeless and a banger! I think this was the first song I actively sought out and listened to as an “anime” song, and I couldn’t get enough of it for a long time.
About this performance I’ll say, the background dancers’ choreography is certainly… interesting lol
Grave of the Fireflies is too sad to cry to. It’s just pure despair, slowly killing you emotionally.
This weekend is still going to be very busy, then it’s getting better. :)
I haven’t even fully watched the last concert BluRay I ordered (Band-Maid), so I’ve been putting off my next purchase. :D
I’m still slowly catching up with Scandal so to speak, though to be honest mostly their “greatest hits”. It’s crazy how productive they’ve been through all those years. And although not all songs are really my thing, they are definitely insanely versatile. And most importantly, they still seem to enjoy very much what they’re doing!
And that is actually one of the greatest appeals a band can have to me. Nothing worse than a veteran band where the members seem to be only in it out of habit or for the money but can’t seem to stand each other anymore.
Thanks for posting this! Actually I didn’t have a chance to properly listen to this until just now! The last weeks were just crazy busy for me, which is also why I wasn’t really active here recently…
But yeah, typically great song by Kaneyorimasaru I say! I wanted to write that it’s a repeating pattern with them to show young women going through heartbreak in their MVs, but after a quick scan through YouTube, the only other one I found is 26. That one just seems to have left a big impression on me. 😅
I just kind of want to post a MV with a happy couple to balance it out now 😁
Oh yeah, the whole idol business is pretty weird, and we won’t speak of K-pop here. 😆
But Babymetal is not typical of the idol industry, so that’s not my issue with them. It’s just that I somehow can’t really “connect” to music if its faces, the people on stage, are not the ones who actually play (and ideally also wrote) it. And idk, the dancing is just weird to me.
Musically, Babymetal is basically their backing band (Kami Band) IMO, and they are obviously very good. The idol/dancing aspect is why I personally could never get into Babymetal, that’s just not my thing.
Then ask your instance admin to update to 0.18.4. I don’t see this bug using the same Jerboa version on my home instance, which has already updated.
Yes, when you open the homepage of your instance in a browser and scroll to the bottom, it should say something like “BE: 0.18.4”.
If it says that and you still get this bug, it’s a new one.
Which Jerboa and Instance backend versions are you seeing this with? There was an issue in the backend that could produce this behavior but should be fixed in 0.18.4: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3823
Which front end would show both names? On (mobile and desktop) web and in Jerboa I only see the display name if it’s set. And the only limitation seems to be that a leading @ is not allowed.
They just put out another song and video for it: Bite you
This one’s a bit heavier and more aggressive, but also still kind of fun. Really a band to keep an eye on!
