I learned to make bread from Paul Hollywood’s YouTube channel. It’s cheaper, tastier, and a fairly easy process.

Wow congrats, you should be proud! This is super inspiring. Not just the changes, but the sense of calm and quiet confidence that comes through over time :3

This might be an interesting read since you take yours sublingually: Sublingual vs Oral Estradiol

4·15 days agoI just read “The T Guide” by Gottmik (Kade Gottlieb) and Gigi Gorgeous. They both share their stories so it’s mixed gender but it’s not bad and a quick read.

Trans@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Complicated relationships with family membersEnglish
8·3 months agoA few members of my family have trouble accepting me. My choice was to spend less and less time with them.
I think you’re allowed to tell your father that if he doesn’t want to “see you” the way you see yourself, then he doesn’t get to physically see you at all. If he wants to lose out on a relationship with his child due to ignorance, that’s his choice, not yours.
Although it sucks, sometimes you have to cut off family if they are hindering your life or impacting your happiness.
Maybe I’m jaded, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. However, my belief is that friends are your chosen family. I’d much rather be surrounded by people who accept me and love me unconditionally.

4·3 months agoCongrats on 1 year! Thank you for your thorough answer! Starting a new job and your transition at the same time must have been really stressful, I commend you.
Well, I guess your response scares me a bit because the majority of my colleagues and former students have known me for several years pre-transition. However, it does give me hope for when I start a new job. It might be best to start fresh.

For the record Joan of Arc is fully supportive.

I agree with that, of course buying off the shelf is the most convenient.
But bread is really easy to do yourself. Bread machines are really convenient, it’s just set and forget. There are even no-knead recipes where you can just mix and leave it in your fridge overnight.
Even though it’s more convenient, I’ll never eat store-bought again. Homemade is just so much better.
