2·1 month agoSame and well, government & banking apps dont work. And there are sometimes other quirks with apps, so its not painless, but for the most part it’s okay.

1·1 month agoIts because they tell them what they want to hear. Its fault of the other side and yada yada. People suspend their disbelief in those cases, cause you lowkey want it to be true. Its just human nature and why populism works.
Its funny. They cut it so non-technical people don’t assume their message is secure when it isn’t. But these people are now not going to adopt signal since they don’t care and the convenience is more valuable than security.

Tbf linux has gone a long way to remove lot of the inertia. Also, with LLMs, its so much easier to use and learn Linux. Instead of chasing a problem for an hour on old forums you can get direct explanation and an answer in a minute.

It got acquired some years back and he even talked about it in a video year something later. Doesn’t mean he’s sold out, but the impact will be there.

Just yesterday I saw a video discussing how private equities buy up YouTube channels to seemingly both squeeze them for their worth and/or use their trust to push an agenda. E.g. fern & veritasium stood out to me the most.
To me it sounds just like a crypto push. Next he will have echo chambers promote his shitcoins as an alternative to overreaching banks and government.
