Great shave today. I’m definitely enjoying my Spearhead soaps this week.
I was joking with Heather about how Americans can’t pronounce ‘bon’ and ‘monsieur’. She can’t and, while I think I can, my accent is influenced by French Canadian heritage, and I’m told by some Parisians that I’m barely understandable. Only the French have that level of disdain. I love it! Speaking of France, the Tour de France started on June 29. I love sitting on the couch and watching all those guys suffer. Amazing stuff.

This was a quick shave this morning. I needed to get out of the house early and have just now returned late in the day. This was one of those rare 85°F days with no wind and very low humidity. A perfect day for remote control sailplanes. Naturally, I was stylin’ with the Stank®.
I haven’t heard of Itakha but love trying soaps that are less common on the sub.
You were incredibly lucky with that Iberia. I’ve only seen one. It was a rusted mess, and had proportions ruined by poor honing.
They really do! And without trying (he’s not a SR shaver), Dennis’ Highland base is just great for straights.

I put zero effort into choosing today’s setup. I simply consulted @djundjila’s post this morning to determine what to use. Excellent choice DJ!
I have Roman Spice. What a great idea to start July with it! I was going to pass on this but @whosgotthepudding insisted I buy it. That was great advice. Shawn is batting 1000 on the Seaforth fragrances.
Congrats on the last day of the games!

Another Lather Games is done! Congrats to all those who participated! My goals for the games were, make a shave-related photo each day, and enjoy the craziness. I’m happy to have accomplished both goals.
Thanks so much to the judges and organizers. You guys rock!
Oh!
I’m out!
Yeah, today, on Amazon, Tabac is $19 for 125g, or ~15¢/g. But as you point out, 125g of Tabac (or MdC for that matter) goes a lot further than 125g of Stirling.
Brush: Wald Stratos Goldvein 29mm A1 Fan
Lather: Barrister and Mann - Sandalwood - Soap
Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - Sandalwood - Aftershave
Post Shave: Thayers - Rose - Toner
Fragrance: Floris of London - Santal - Eau de Toilette
Talc: Yardley Gold
Great shave. In terms of today’s theme, it’s all in the name, isn’t it.
No worries.
I’m getting rid of the brush and Arko
Hell yeah! [“Good!”, if you’re from Texas]. This year I finally noticed that the wording in the challenge is: cheapest wetshaving product in your collection. If it weren’t for Stirling, I’d probably take a hard look at Tabac or MdC.

If I’m to do a frugal shave, then it will be a straightforward, no frills affair. So, no witchhazel, or talc. That’s for sissies.
I was surprised to find that this AP Shave Co brush is, at $60, my least expensive brush. It is equal in cost to several other synthetics I have, and tied with my cheapest badger brush. I’ve given away brushes that cost less so I’m left with rather high-end bristles. Anyway, here’s the cost rundown of my setup:
Cheap gear, absolutely excellent shave. It’s the blade that does the cutting. The better you wield it, the better your shave.
To qualify, the loft has to be 48mm or smaller. I measured the loft at exactly 48mm. However, the tag is more for my own record-keeping than anything else. I don’t actually care about points. For me, LG challenges provide an interesting way to visit my collection of shaving hardware and software. If I had done this correctly, I would have taken a photo of the knot with my ruler next to it showing the distance above the handle. I want to participate in the LG to be part of the community but, mostly, it’s all about the daily SOTD comments for me.
Hopefully, you were distracted by the enjoyment of the shave, but with a little one running around all bets are off for that :)

SSL is the perfect summer scent. Today’s shave was another test shave. This razor had a bunch of issues, and I was convinced that the shave would be lousy. Nope! Terrific shave from this razor. The video I made while working on the razor is quite long and will take me a while to cut down to size. I’ll update this comment when that’s done.
Happy 4th to those of you who are Americans!
