I don’t see why people call it hard coded when it’s possible to disable. That’s not what hard coded means, it’s just coded.

244·21 hours agoExtra piefed features: flairs, polls, feeds, hashtags, emoji reactions, better micro blog support, wikis (really big feature which I don’t see mentioned much), keyword filters, events, proper instance blocking (not just hiding communities) . Some apps don’t support all of these yet.
no lowballs i know what i got

122·3 days agoA lot of people looking at the code were saying these things were hardcoded, even after seeing an if statement which checks if the thing is enabled, which is straight up wrong unless you consider it hard coded because its coded, into the codebase.

I’m a big fan of lapis. It’s built on openresty, a fork of nginx that embeds luajit into it. This means you can make use of all the features nginx has in your application. It’s really fast in my experience.
I have a medium-ish project written in lapis here: https://codeberg.org/irelephant/kittygram
There isn’t really much of an ecosystem around lua, lapis is really the only “proper” framework. There is stuff like redbean and mako which are cool, but not as complete/friendly to use as lapis imo.
Luarocks can be a bit of a pain as well (make sure to install packages for lua 5.1).Lapis is made by the same person who made itch.io too, which i think it cool.

Sugar can delay how long concrete takes to set, but it’s an insignificant amount of time (~2 hours maybe), and then the concrete when it sets is stronger.
