Yes, sorry, as I said, that was a mistake

I was trying to point out a possible train of thought causing someone to be opposed to ideas of higher taxes for rich people. Sorry for the spelling mistake, English is not my first language. I also shouldn’t have mixed other issues into it, that did not help the discussion.
Maybe the main reason for people refusing taxes for the rich is a lack of trust to those in favour of it, because they percieve the ones favouring it as opponents. This could be at least partially due to them using insults and personal attacks as a means of discussion. Sorry if there are spelling mistakes again, my break is over and I do not have time to check each word I am unsure about.
Political party promises taxes for billionaires
Political party also promises to spend that money
Party gets elected
Party realizes that super rich people have enough resouces to avoid any tax they can come up with as a single country
Party still wants to live up to the promises from 2, so they try to tax large corporations
Same problem as 4. Fun fact by the way: The nice left colonialism-hating palistine-supporting irish are the ones most responsible for big tech not paying any taxes for doing business in europe. (Double irish with a dutch sandwich)
Party turns to the “richest” people that cannot afford tax evasion.
I pay close to the maximum tax rate although making far less than 100k per year without any noteworthy savings
Of course it doesn’t have to go that way, I just want to point out there are reasons to be skeptical besides being a “Fuckin idiot”. Politics can turn good ideas into bad policies
Thanks for the explanation. I still find it weird that developers spend time on that screen if it servers no real purpose, at least nowadays
That makes sense. But I was talking about games where you only go to the main menu after pressing a key
I liked the new Firefox logo when it came out, but I think now I would appreciate it if logos became a little more sophisticated again.
Whats the point of those screens anyway? I just started the game and waited for the loading screen. What else do you think I would want to do but continue? Oh, yes, nothing, because it is literally the only option. Then just send me to main menu right away instead of wasting my time
I think after Windows 7 they tried to get into the mobile market for a while so they changed a few things to make Windows work with touch input. But then they realized that they were not up to the task of dealing with actual competition because it requires actually making a good product, so they retreated to their desktop comfort zone where they’ve had a monopoly since forever due to exclusive software and user habits and started to cash in on it by plastering everything with ads. Meanwhile, they pulled out the few skilled developers to have them work on cloud stuff with Azure, because at least after they accidentally lost the emails of the european parliament to a chinese intelligence service without any consequences they know that nothing threatens their dominance over the market
True. But I kind of hoped lemmy would be different. After hearing about the evil algorithms of Youtube, Facebook, etc using fear and anger to keep you engaged with their platform, I came to hope that with a non profit federated system there would be more diverse discussions with more tolerance for different points of view. But as you said, it is basically just the internet average.
After all, no evil corporate master plan is needed. It seems to me like people just like to live in filter bubbles if given the option.
If that surprises you wait until you learn what happens if you have an Xbox Controller and do not update the firmware for some time. It might just start crashing your window manager (component of the Windows operating system) at random times for some reason and the games you are playing just suddenly minimize one or two times per hour.
Have I mentioned I try to use Linux wherever the software I want to use is available for it?
