I originally thought not ACAB, but until the “good cops” start arresting the “bad apples”, corrupt, prepotent, wife beaters, drug traffickers, sleazy, etc. I will conclude ACAB.

The only ones who get arrested are those who commit egregious offences that the public are aware of and leadership cannot swipe under the rug. And then the “Investigation” shows that there were already multiple reports of previous wrong doing and that their bosses and other cops already knew.

You’d need a police force with zero bad apples for me to believe that not ACAB.

We need to accept that to really fix the situation.

I grew up in mexico where corruption is endemic. One day, my mom was complaining about corruption pointing fingers. I told her that I left mexico because it’s impossible to live there without being corrupt. That, if you give money to a corrupt police officer or any other bureaucrat you are corrupt, and most of the time it’s not even a choice. If you didn’t report wrong doing because “nothing will be done” you are corrupt.

So, It’s my observation that ACAB.

Canada is very far from Mexican consciousness.

I am Mexican Canadian.

Mexico hasn’t forgotten about all the stolen territory. Yes, they call it sale and secession and whatever, it was stolen.

If I put a gun to your head and ask you to sell me a property you have for $10. You are going to do it. I’d say I purchased it. I’m sure you’ll say I stole it.

So, why do disagree?

People who grew up in mexico and other Latin-American countries learn that America is the continent and the people are Americans.

When Spaniards “America” was the region’s South to the US colonies. For Portuguese, it was Brazil.

Mexico (and many other countries) has an official name and a unique coloquial one.

The US only has an official name and they appropriated the coloquial one which already meant the whole continent.

It wasn’t an accident in language. It was deliberate.

And you really think they are the ones fighting?

They remove social services and the only out for poor people is the army.

Venezuela should have been the line. Want to make it Greenland? So, they can take mexico, Cuba?
