  • I’m American in Europe. I don’t share the below opinions of Europe, just informing what I’ve seen

A lot of the American exceptionism is because we are only taught WW1/2 and Soviet occupation after. We are taught that Americans basically won WW2, which I’ve heard is inaccurate, but haven’t cared to research. We are taught that the founding fathers wanted isolation from European wars. We are effectively taught that Europe is/has been endlessly in war and conflict.

Americans think Europeans are effectively Soviet occupied or extremely corrupt on the east. Western Europe is viewed as a vacation spot, and nothing more. If you put yourself in this mindset, you can see why Americans (on both sides) view NATO as a financial drain.

The reality is that most Americans (both sides) really just don’t think or care about Europe at all, except for holiday. Europe is basically nice food and an archeology site to most Americans

  • On the flip side, I think men could use more men’s groups because male loneliness is problematic. Women don’t want to feel responsible for men’s loneliness (rightly so), so the natural solution is men need to do better at making friends with men. The problem is doing it in a healthy way

That said, I would suggest the solution is hobby groups without gender exclusion. Like carpentry, basketball, knitting, dance, ballet. Hobbies seem to self select.

Most of my hobbies are female dominated in my conservative area.

  • XR is extinction rebellion?

This from Wikipedia kind of gets at my point.

Extinction Rebellion has been criticised as alienating potential supporters.[28][29] Extinction Rebellion’s 2019 protests cost the Metropolitan Police an extra £7.5 million. Activists identifying with the movement have also defended causing property damage, such as smashing windows.[30][31] Extinction Rebellion has said such tactics are sometimes necessary and that they are careful not to put anyone at risk.[32] In a YouGov poll of 3,482 British adults conducted on 15 October 2019, 54% “strongly opposed” or “somewhat opposed” Extinction Rebellion’s actions of disrupting roads and public transport to “shut down London” in order to bring attention to their cause, while 36% “strongly supported” or “somewhat supported” these actions.
