why do I need to explain it to you? I already said I like CachyOS and I want to try the server version. that’s it.

because I like cachyos and want to try their server version?
just realized that Marvel Comics did the same thing with Ms. Marvel in like the 70s or 80s but it wasn’t as “religious”.
that’s insulting. It’s one thing to try and be nice and send a genuine email to Dr. Pike thanking and acknowledging their outstanding contributions but to have your crappy LLM write the email?
Surprised Claude didn’t hallucinate the majority of this because it certainly hallucinates everything else on a daily basis. Boggles my mind how one LLM that used to be praised for coding assistance can turn into such garbage in the span of like a couple of months. You’re better off having your cat help you with coding than utilizing Claude or Claude Code at this point.

yeah I should have added no need to go beyond season 1. which is a shame cause I REALLY liked Psycho Pass season 1 and the rest was just…really?

“also involving Italy, Japan”
I see what you did there.

shouldn’t really surprise anyone. Didn’t their CEO like several months ago pretty much defend a known fascist/tranphob on the platform and essentially told people who complained about it to “not post” out of protest? Also Bluesky is extremely quick to bend to the whims of whatever government body makes demands. They were one of the first sites to quickly implement age verification in the UK I believe.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I run my own piefeed instance and I have lemmy.ml and hexbear a long with a few others blocked on it. But I had to KNOW about those before hand. It’s not like Reddit where you pretty much have to go looking for that content if you want to see it and/or block it.
I’m by no means a fan of moderation but I think we need to at least have some kind of rating system when selecting an instance or something and not have it be purely based on user count. Have it similar to how we already have it with users where you can see without clicking on anything if a user has a bad reputation. just add that to instances.

honestly if they do this I will slap it on my server. I love CachyOS, it’s a great and solid distro and by far the best Arch fork out there. I’ve never had issues with it and while sure the install is probably the longest out of all the distros I’ve used it’s still great. Very solid team behind it.

with some interactions I’ve seen from GNOME fanboys on mastodon…honestly wouldn’t put it past them. /s

shit I’m more likely to put a nuclear power plant on the moon guarded by state of the art Mobile Suits piloted by Jedi Knights than Russia is.

Bubblegum Crisis, Bubblegum Crash, Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor 1 and 2, Armitage III, AD Police Files, Memories, Neo Tokyo, Megazone 23, Venus Wars, Techno Police 21C, AI City, Dominion Tank Police.
Most of these are movies or very short series (like 4 episodes max).
there’s also a hell of a lot more. 80s/90s anime was peak ultraviolent cyberpunk. And if you don’t mind stepping out of the 90s and maybe watching something a bit longer I highly suggest Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and S.A.C. 2nd Gig. by far my favourite anime series of all time. Also Psycho-Pass.

trust me I hate Linkedin as much as the next person. research what you need to do in order to be a contractor (i.e. taxes being a big thing to remember) and just deal with the bullshit that’s linkedin. You’re there just to have clients find you. Don’t use it as a search to find people because like I previously said and you pointed out they’re not going to openly admit they fucked up and trust me even when you do get on a call with them or email exchange in a funny way they still won’t openly admit they fucked up and will continue to tip toe around the fact. It’s almost comical.

I mean I haven’t noticed any real differences and the performance on both have been great. If you’re using CachyOS they’re in there by default so no need to install something like ProtonUP-QT to easily get the GE protons if you don’t want to.

I can’t believe Timeless Toni Storm would take the money!

same. I have over 300 games in my steam library that i’ve bought over the years and the vast majority of which I never launched. So now i’m going through them. combine that with finally getting retroarch/libretro all PROPERLY set up I’ve also got a shit ton of roms from various consoles to play also, games I couldn’t afford as a kid.
Like right now I’m FINALLY playing Ocarina of Time for the first time ever and it’s a blast, now I understand why people love it so much. Also started playing New Vegas and System Shock on the PC which I’ve owned for years and never played and both those are great too. New Vegas is REALLY fun.

like it or not Linkedin unfortunately. Prior to what I do now I was just a regular consultant dev and decided to pivot to essentially being a sort of “digital janitor”. I had an existing client base but those clients were smart enough to not even bother with leveraging LLMs for their work, they already had a solid team of developers. Some work I got via client referrals but most was honestly just posting comments/small blogs on Linkedin and arguing with tech bros. Tech Bro posts their usual BS AI slop, I’d reply saying how idiotic and wrong they were, other companies took notice and figured “ok we’re in a bind, this guy seems to know what he’s talking about, lets get on a call with him”
Remember most of these AI tech bros are out of work middle management wannabes so get in their threads and call them out. Many small dev houses and startups are currently trying to snuff out LLM fires but are afraid to admit they fucked up due to investors, clients, and what have you so they’re not going to out right post jobs stating they need help with it. you have to let them know you’re out there. Post on linkedin, cold email places, etc. Also highlight the fact you do code review on your resume. This is one skillset that is massively in demand right now because of LLMs. Not everyone can do it and do it well but it’s something that isn’t that difficult to get good at. You pretty much have to be willing to become a freelancer/consultant and take on several clients at once and then build your reputation. After awhile if you’re good at it you won’t need to advertise your services anymore as word will spread and clients will be beating down your door hoping you can save them. I’ve been booked solid for almost the past year. And it’s not hard work at all either, dare I say doing what I do now is 10x easier than just doing regular dev work because the vast majority of issues are all the same. Client leverages AI for an end to end build, it doesn’t scale, way too many exploits, a series of #TODOS that the LLM claimed were complete but weren’t even started and the “vibe coder” behind it all didn’t know any better. it’s the same song and dance with each company. You’ll eventually end up doing maybe 3 to 4 hours of work a day just reviewing code and writing reports and then fuck off and play a videogame or something.

absolute workhorse of a card, still have one on a very old Dell with CachyOS on it.
CachyOS is also a fantastic distro. I use the CachyOS kernel on my NixOS laptop. And the recent CachyOS Protons on steam are great. Also have some great Arch repos. It’s just a great distro that tries to improve just about everything and does it well.

The other day I needed cash and my regular bank wasn’t near me so the idiot that I am decided to use a TD ABM. $5. it cost me 5 friggin dollars to draw out $20. if I weren’t in a rush Id have said fuck that but god damn, 5 god damn dollars just to use their ABM?
heaven forbid you go read about it. You’re weird, man. Takes all of 5 seconds to web search the distro and find what makes it different.
