We swedes do have that annoying habit of just switching to English because its easier. Feel free to remind people that you’re trying to learn Swedish and most people will understand and be helpful.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Whats the best way to clean up 15 years of stuff around the house?
1·16 days agoI didn’t claim to be a full blown hoarder, I said I used to be somewhat of a hoarder. OP also said they didn’t have that extreme of a problem with hoarding either so thought it could still be worth sharing what helped me.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Whats the best way to clean up 15 years of stuff around the house?
5·17 days agoI used to be somewhat of a hoarder and I found it helpful to ask myself things like “When have I used this past few years?” or “Would I even remember this thing if I got rid of it?” etc.
If you have stuff you never really look at or use and maybe never even think about until you find it again then why keep it?

Amazing art! Really really like the style
sirimeow@lemmy.worldtoMental Health@lemmy.world•'Unwinding' with screens might actually make you more stressed. Here are 4 things to try insteadEnglish
231·1 month agoIdk, doesn’t seem to actually be about screens themselves and more about multitasking or what we watch on the screens.
Don’t know how to do fancy quoting but this is the conclusion from the article:
Evidence suggests that mental relief comes not from adding new coping strategies, but from reducing the number of demands placed on the brain.
Here are some evidence-based strategies that support genuine restoration:
-
Reduce digital multitasking, such as using your phone while watching television. This lowers stress and cognitive strain.
-
Limit task-switching and interruptions. This improves focus and reduces cognitive fatigue.
-
Spend time in low-stimulation environments, including quiet spaces and outdoor settings. This supports mood and emotional well-being.
-
Unwind with analog or low-novelty activities, such as reading print, journaling, gentle movement, or device-free walking. These pastimes allow mental engagement without overload.
The goal is to intentionally reduce mental load, not to abandon all digital devices.
To improve well-being in our overstimulated society, it’s important to understand the difference between feeling as though you are unwinding and actually allowing your brain and body to recover.

29·2 months agoThis is one of my favourite games ever. One of those I wish I could erase from my memory so I could play it for the first time again.
Also very disappointed about all the bullshit with the sequel and the devs.

Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes@lemmy.zip•[Discussion] What's your most memorable multiplayer experience in a Soulslike?
2·3 months agoI used to help random people with bosses in Elden Ring a while back. Ended up helping the same person with Mohg about 10 times one night. They unfortunately died a lot, usually at the end but we often got close. When we finally did it we both jumped up and down and did some emotes. It was nice and wholesome.
