Now, at that time, there was discussion of “public-private” cooperation concerning the cybersecurity of that data so it could (paraphrasing) “stay in the hands of American people.” Lolol.

Fuck the technocracy. Bunch of cowardly assholes using and clearly planning to use Americans’ personal info against them en masse. The algorithms have manipulated us, pitting wage slave against wage slave. And all that extracted data will continue being utilized in siccing the brownshirts they rabbit-holed and radicalized onto conveniently corralled targets. Us.

We have to fight their algorithm manipulation with not only data poisoning and/or removing ourselves from the tech altogether, but good ol’ fashioned interpersonal psychological manipulation. And what I mean by that is physically talking to humans outside our bubble. Find some common ground. Believe it or not, it still exists. Use seemingly innocuous quips to plant seeds of doubt. Try to reach the human that may or may not still exist in that withered husk you work with, that maga uncle with a maga son so in the closet it hurts, the ones just acting like it’s all okay. Help them see the writing on the wall that they, too, will lose.

By completely disengaging with people we think are beyond redemption, we are possibly allowing so many with a shred of heart left to continue down the rabbit hole in private. People are stupid. And we know this division is by design. Fight it with well-placed words before they do something irredeemable and we have nothing left to fight with but arms.

A vast number of maga figureheads and followers sure seem to be living in a world of shared psychosis. And when you’re in a psychosis, it genuinely feels like everyone’s out to get you for reasons you can only justify with increasingly difficult mental gymnastics. But it’s all manufactured by the very real psychopaths in power, the ones ensuring the cult psychosis keeps perpetuating.

I guess what I’m saying is there’s still time to pull some of these followers or in-betweeners out of it by shifting the focus of what they think they have to fear by showing them what they really need to fear. A spin on killing them with kindness.

Something about his previous arrests doesn’t sit right with me. There’s a lot of missing context.

Regarding the 2023 arrest for trespassing, why was he trespassing at a psychiatric facility in the first place? Was he having an episode and shaking his fist at the system that continues to fail him or was he concerned about someone inside? Why would something like trespassing go to trial and to the point he was found not competent to even stand trial?

I don’t know, there are simply too many missing pieces. And from too many of us the uncritical answer comes: “That man is crazy and has been all along.”

I appreciate your validation that this appears to be a content feed issue and not likely a reception issue. Too many possibilities.

The only addition I have is that the two channels originate from different transmitters as far as I can tell. That adds to how strange it was for both 13.1 and 46.1 being missing content at the same time, while their respective affiliates were fine.

I hope to find public outage or feedback reports for broadcast stations, maybe a pattern is evident somewhere?

Assuming it was a local “grayout” on the two subchannels coming from different transmitters, could it be a limited testing of the waters for possible public response? OTA watchers would probably report a lack of feed less than someone who subscribes to a wired (cable, internet) service because one assumes OTA has less reliable reception, and it’s also free. But in this case, the other subchannels being on air tells me it’s not a typical reception issue.

It’s easy to handwave this away as an abberation, but it’s still disconcerting.

I have this sinking feeling November 17 is significant.

I don’t know if it’s because an update to the insanely invasive PeePal account privacy policy that I actually read goes into effect that day, or because it’s just shy of two weeks after election day, a day by which most states have (or should have) certified their results, or what.

Okay I love some things but I hate everything about this.

Everyone should keep in mind: Besides the darkened tone of the world seeping into nearly everything, this place is probably crawling with shit-stirrers of a slightly subtler flavor than your typical obnoxious troll.

This effect might be from lemmy users in general hating everything about the world right now, or it might be the work of bots and/or illicitly paid humans fronting as the “general left.” The type that reflects your viewpoints pretty well but injects their comments with a little something extra, inflaming you or depressing more than what seems reasonable, maybe pushing you a little closer to the edge, whatever that edge may be.

We (or at least I) have no idea how much astroturfing is happening in the comments. It’s probably best to take anything that seems peculiarly provocative with a grain of salad.
