  • I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m saying it’s a matter of priority. It doesn’t matter if people can no longer throw Molotov cocktails through your window if your house is a pile of ashes.

All of the things you’re talking about take time, which we don’t have.

I agree that Trump is a symptom of a much larger problem, but it’s like telling someone whose throat is actively swelling up that they really need to focus on allergy immunotherapy instead of grabbing an adrenaline shot.

The reason they’re ramping things up so much right now is because he’s probably going to die soon, and without him the maga movement is going to lose a lot of steam. That’s the point where it makes sense to focus on systemic changes.

  • My point is that a person behind the wheel of a car isn’t harmless.

The fact that it’s not harmless is what negates the terrorist’s claim of self defense because he intentionally positioned himself in front of it. He wouldn’t have been in any danger if he took literally two steps to the right.

But I don’t disagree with anything you said, I’m just clarifying my point. Well, I disagree with calling ICE law enforcement.

  • Exactly. The terrorist was creating a situation in which he could murder.

I just take issue with the notion that a person behind the wheel of a multi ton death machine is harmless. They’re not harmless, which is why intentionally standing in front of the vehicle negates the ICE agent’s claim of self defense.

The thing to always consider is the probability of the risk.

You’re technically not supposed to reheat rice because the toxins produced by bacteria that feed on rice aren’t destroyed by the temperatures you achieve though reheating.

But the risk is really quite low, to the extent that someone could reheat rice frequently throughout their life and never get sick.

This is true for a lot of food safety issues. Or really safety issues in general. For an individual the risk is pretty low, but for a place like a restaurant it’s much higher due to volume.

I also have doubts that simply rinsing produce with water is a truly effective method of removing bacteria. If you think about it, would you consider only rinsing off your hands with water after taking a shit be sufficient?

In all of the restaurants I’ve worked in we had to use a specific washing solution for cleaning produce.
