In Brazil, wildfires have roared across the Pantanal, a maze of rivers, forests and marshlands that sprawl over an area 20 times the size of the Everglades.

Usually flooded for much of the year, the Pantanal in recent years has been parched by a string of severe droughts that scientists have linked to deforestation and climate change.

Since the start of the year, wildfires have burned over 7,000 square miles, an area the size of New Jersey, in Brazil’s share of the Pantanal.

    I’m sure everyone who has the power to do something about the massive amounts of deforestation and pollution are deeply concerned.

      The solutions are there, but nobody will risk loss of power or popularity. But no worries, nature will strike back harder and harder.
