If she wants to do a star chart for you then just relax and have fun. It’s a way for you two to talk about your lives and a conversation starter. She likes you dude, and if you take the opportunity to lecture about why this is silly then are really doing is sending red flags that you’ll talk down to her whenever you might disagree.

Well, most people don’t literally think that. There is a reason most horoscopes just use different adjectives for the same couple of things. I agree, but the problem is that a lot of people do take it seriously. It’s perfectly fine to enjoy these things if you just think they’re fun. But actually believing in things that are demonstrably wrong is definitely a huge red flag for me. I’ve also become extremely negative towards astrology in particular because I’ve had to deal with family who used to take it at face value and also because I love astronomy, which, to me, gets tainted by this pseudoscience nonsense that sort of imitates it.
Astrology, tarot, etc are essentially just guided meditation. An option to think about yourself deeply for a while, and possibly more accessible and doable for certain types of people. The problems only arise when fraudsters use it for fraud.
Your approach is so refreshing. My partner is huge into tarot and believes that it allows him to receive guidance from his late husband. I figure it doesn’t harm anything for him to feel that his husband is still close, plus it gives him time to reflect on recent events.
