This ‘Far-Right’ Bit Is Getting Old https://www.theepochtimes.com/opinion/this-far-right-bit-is-getting-old-5469580 So when the media complains that people doing normal things and making justifiable complaints against the system as it is are “far-right,” what they’re really confessing is their own ideological commitments. They’re leftists in what they imagine to be a grand ideological struggle against the right. In this struggle, they want no one to be independent.

I had an argument with my right-wing neighbor the other day. He blamed the left for people on the right becoming Nazis. His argument was that if you were a young impressionable person that was called a Nazi, then you would be more likely to embrace the Nazi tag and roll with it.
My argument was that maybe if you didn’t do Nazi shit in the first place, then people wouldn’t call you a Nazi. He didn’t seem to get my point.

LOL, this shit is funny. Right wing opinion piece bitching about being called out for what they are. Maybe it’s just me, but if a bunch of people are calling me something bad, and it keeps coming from different sources, I would like to think I’d do at least a little self-reflection on my values.

What are the normal things people are doing that are being called into question here? What makes them normal? Does that definition of normal have potential issues that could be addressed?
What are those justifiable complaints against the system?

I thought I’d try and have a discussion and dig into the reasoning and potential misconceptions rather than just hurling accusations around. That doesn’t help connect us as people.

What a BS article. Our voting system is such that if you don’t vote for a major party you effectively are giving the contested position to whatever party you would not have voted for if you chose between the two. It should not be this way but it is. In addition our country skews right such that it considers moderate and even a bit right moderate to be left so centerists effectively get grouped in with the far left while the right is dominated by the far right and possibly folks that can’t bring themselves to vote otherwise. Honestly Im not even sure if I can call our republicans far right at this point what was considered conservative years ago is not what they are doing now.
