For a while now I have been wanting to play old episodes of TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT in the background in Spanish during the day to passively brush up on my Spanish.

Paramount Plus doesn’t offer these shows with Spanish audio in the US, which is very odd considering that the US has the second-highest number of Spanish speakers in the world. I also tried getting a Mexican Paramount Plus account and VPNing in, which worked for a little while until they removed all older Trek content from Paramount Plus in Mexico.

I’d really hate having to resort to DVDs and/or BluRays, but at this point that looks like my only option. Before doing that, I thought I’d ask here and see if anyone has any other recommendations.

Other than checking with other countries, I’m not sure what else you could do.

I also used to watch Spanish language programming to help learn Spanish. I do have to warn you that the subtitles will often not match the spoken words. Sometimes they’re completely different, as if they were produced by two different translation services. I found that telenovellas were often very accurate, but other kinds of media were hit or miss, and the translated ones were the worst. If you don’t need to read subs, though, you should be fine.

I find that with French too. The dubbing is adjusted to match the lip flaps while the subtitles are more of a direct translation.

I really just need the audio. I’ve watched older Trek so much that I’ve half-memorized the dialogue. It would be nice just to have the audio in the background while I’m working.

DS9, VOY and ENT are all on Netflix Mx. If you already have a Netflix account you can just VPN to Mx. TNG is on Prime Mx but I think you would need to pay a separate subscription.
