We’re in kind of a shitty situation, but:

    • Our typical spoiler policy is one week from release - in this case, it’s been three.

    • The headline is completely unchanged from the way it appears on the original site - the information is out there in the mainstream, and I don’t think it’s feasible to assume any kind of spoiler protection at this point.

    • The content warning system in Lemmy doesn’t provide a way to differentiate between TV spoilers and, say, hardcore pornography, which is not ideal.

@ValueSubtracted I understand where you’re coming from, and as you said, it’s not an ideal content warning system.

I was pretty quick on board watching S2, so not affected anyway. I just know how some can be with spoilers lol.

      LLAP!

All good - it’s an understandably sensitive topic, and I know Lemmy and Mastodon have different implementations of content warning, as well as different cultural norms around them. If we can ever smooth that out we will, but for now we periodically remind Mastodon users that spoilers can be expected when viewing the instance from that platform.
