I was going to create a Dallas community, however I don’t live there. I am in a burb and needed a larger sphere of influence when it comes to getting hot takes on food or activity in the region. If someone gets the Dallas community rolling drop a note here and I’ll subscribe to it as well.

I think that this broader DFW community is the better way to start. Even with the mass appeal that the ‘other’ big site had, a lot of the outer suburbs really only had an occasional post, so starting with everyone together (here or if there Is a bigger DFW place in the fediverse) is the best plan for growth.
I agree with this assessment. I’m also not sure how well lemmy.world is scaling as I do have all kinds of issues browsing around here with chrome on my phone.

There s a Dallas group but for now it appears to be just one guy with storm alerts.
