It certainly could’ve been an article, but it does offer some nice details about the transit situation in each city, as well as providing nice video of each of the trains/lightrail/Aerial tramways mentioned, along with possible expansions and how frequently they run. Admittedly I’m a fan of CityNerd, so I personally don’t mind the video format.

If you’re only curious about the ranking itself without any additional context:

    1. New York City
    2. Toronto
    3. Vancouver
    4. Montreal
    5. Calgary
    6. Mexico City
    7. Ottawa
    8. Edmonton
    9. Guadalajara
    10. SF-Oakland
    11. Boston
    12. Washington
    13. Monterrey
    14. Seattle
    15. Chicago

He mentions that Chicago would likely rank much higher had it not been calculated by Metro area.

Grouping SF with Oakland is also a little weird IMHO — quick googling suggests that SF muni has about 3x the ridership of BART in SF.
