EDIT: If you are out of the loop, Space Patrol Delta is a law enforcement organization. Those who get promoted to a Ranger squad, get color based on rank. So in the time after the season, we learn that characters got promoted, i.e. they got a different color.
Oh good, so the Black Ranger wasn’t always a person of African descent, and the yellow ranger wasn’t always Asian…right?
Okay, that was Mighty Morphin. The entire franchise is an adaptation of Super Sentai, a long running Japanese franchise.
