Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What hill are you willing to die on even if no one in your life agrees with you?
31·2 hours agoWater usage but in the opposite direction. Yes, I’m going to take a bath. No, I don’t think it makes any actual difference ; go blow up a factory or a data centre if you care so much about water. (Or maybe do it even if you don’t, it never hurts !)

3·2 hours agoThe funniest part is that the network in this picture is comically simple, compared to ours. We just got MUCH better at cable management and utilisation.
Sharon’s society is probably built to handle this exact problem, since the overwhelming majority of numbers are irrational.
We should instead worry that Sharon’s society is kinder to the disabled than ours, that is likely what they would consider her to be…
I wish more guys were bold enough to go bald when it’s clearly time (pun intended). I personally prefer it on them at least, it looks quite neat.
Who the hell measures energy in Wh ? I always convert back to Joules, Watt Hours don’t make any sense.
A gun !? You need a Rocket Launcher if you want to do any worthwhile damage !

41·1 day agoThe US started this war decades ago. The “Cold War” did not end, it was merely renamed “Peace”.
Being in this world is traumatic. We must do something about it soon, or there won’t be any “being in this world” anymore…

People Twitter@sh.itjust.works•Making grades meaningless so that everyone advances is doing a disservice to kids' education.
65·1 day agoThis misses the point of grades being a stupid system in the first place. The very idea that people should be numbered and ranked is so readily accepted that we only dare consider how to do it correctly.
The truth is that essays should not be graded at all, because there should be no such thing as grading in the first place.
If only I knew how, I would do nothing but “goof around” in this way.

Non. Le problème c’est que les gens les conduisent comme des imbéciles. Bourgeois ou pauvres, j’en vois de toutes les classes sur ces machines, et ils conduisent (presque) tous beaucoup trop vite et en plein milieu du trottoir.
