Sounds like big trouble. You’re going to need plenty of therapeutic advice before this thing is over. As your therapist I advise you to rent a very fast car with no top. And you’ll need the cocaine.
Was it proven? I’d expect overwhelming evidence to surface after his death but I’m not aware of it.

Music@lemmy.world•STICK MEN "The Well" (Official Video) | Tony Levin · Pat Mastelotto · Markus ReuterEnglish
2·8 days agoCrimson, without the King. Didn’t hear this collaboration yet.
I saw BEAT show the other day and it left me giddy, with songs bouncing around the head for whole week after. I also saw Pat live with two more drummers for crimson lineup, that was unreal as well.

1·21 days agoI ordered medical grade one from shop.whoop.com, I’ll see if it can connect to NOOP without subscription nonsense.
Efit: I was wrong, they only sell bands and the device itself needs subscription unless found second hand.
Fairly strong opening move.

1·30 days agoWhy not whoop + NOOP? I don’t know anything about it, but for 50€ it looks stylish and has plenty of features.

Gaming@lemmy.world•Roblox loses $70 billion in value as company blames lack of viral gamesEnglish
9·1 month agoThe other day a friend asked me for games recommendation for her young kids, “anything to get them off the roblox”. Having grown up with Monkey Island and Incredible Machine, I really feel sorry for this gen kids and their always-online and ever-screaming lobbies.
The children gaming market is huge and roblox has it all pretty much to itself. The “problem” for their leadership is that the machine must grow. Being on top with no competition, that’s not good enough. Sustainable long term business with clean nose is somehow considered to be a failed business model. Both stupid and greedy, the worst combination to have as stewards of biggest online communities for children.

Europe@feddit.org•EU Mandates Driver-Facing Cameras in New Cars From TodayEnglish
1·1 month agoThat tech is not there. The cam has it’s own status display on dashboard that shows"vigilance". On 5 hour drive on Interstate I got 0/5 maybe because I was wearing glasses?
There is so much stuff in modern cars that don’t work the way you want it to, or plainly doesn’t function. Dead-end menu items, touchscreen buttons that don’t do anything, driving “assistance” for collision detection with many false positives…
I’d want the least amount of software in my car, but the industry marches blindly the other way, and they seemed to have inherited QA from Microsoft.
Took me a moment

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s with all the furry porn on this platform?
1·3 months agoNo no no! The “show all posts in reverse chronological order” cannot be a description of an outcome; it is phrased as a request or a command. The outcome description would be “posts get shown in reverse chronological order”! Also there is no way to show all posts, that’s not really possible with finite resources.
Unless you were thinking of an algorithm that prints out text “show all posts in reverse chronological order”, then you are completely right in that being the outcome.

Technology@lemmy.zip•Firefox has an ambitious new roadmap, the browser is also losing millions of users a monthEnglish
49·3 months agoArticle is fluff, just read the source of info: https://www.firefox.com/en-US/whatsnext/
I like built in ad blocking and further privacy protection. I’d like to see more of it, to firmly establish where firefox stands in the big tech war against personal freedom.
Unpopular opinion - for me Firefox is a joy to use. I appreciate that we still have a strong alternative to web monopoly. Sure things could be better but when was this not true? I’ve used it for many many years and there’s nothing on the horizon that I would consider as alternative.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•C++ takes decades to master
5·3 months agoI spent few years using it professionally and mentoring others, but never felt comfortable with it. Small eternities spent fighting the language constructs and solving typing puzzles. My take away is that I could just barely fit the C++ in my head and then there’s no room for anything else. I’m done with it for good.
Being in “this is obviously wrong” category, I have no choice but to downvote this.
