  • Not usually but I did when reading The Locked Tomb books; the never-ending density of information with the potential to be relevant later/earlier/right now but you just don’t know it yet, was far too much to keep track of otherwise.

They’re incredible books but it’s one hell of a mental work out reading them whilst keeping tabs on what is actually going on, and that only just starts to happen properly on the second read-through.

My notes were scribbles in a notebook with page and paragraph numbers next to a quote of the interesting or enlightening phrase, and if a theory was forming I’d add a few words outlining it and underline key ones. That way I could skim over my notes and pick out which bit related to what and where in the book it was.

  • Why is my telling people the impact of their decisions something you consider toxic?

I’m not wrong and I’ve literally given undisputable scientic sources for my arguments.

Do you just not like seeing people talk about the very real consequences of your actions?

Is that what is upsetting you to the point of lashing out, attacking my character, and calling me names?

  • Thank you for sharing this! It’s heartwarming to know some cows have successfully escaped this horrific system.

Last fall, a cow in Poland fled the farm that enslaved her and ran into the primeval Białowieża Forest. This is a dangerous forest for a domesticated animal, since hungry wolves wander through it and foliage gets scarce in the winter. Luckily, the cow found a group of fifty wild bison who accepted her into their herd. She was spotted with the bison once in November and again in January. The bison seem to have protected her from predators and taught her how to survive in the woods.

This one reads like a folk story and I hope it’s becoming one and her bravery inspires even a just a few people to consider these systems of cruelty and stop consuming animals.
