I’ve often seen kids throwing tantrums in public, and the parents (feeling embarrassed) immediately resort to appeasement. Whenever you give a screaming child something that makes them happy, they learn that screaming more often will get them what they want.

And they will inevitably cause situations in which the kid can never get what they want, but they still believe screaming hard enough works, resulting in an indefinite tantrum. Bad parenting will definitely snowball if you’re not careful.

  • That one is also safe to remove, but that one is a bit older and is apparently just for verifying contacts in E2EE messenger apps. Smells like spyware to me but Google provided no more context in the description than that so I’m not inclined to trust it.

Just be aware that it will likely bring itself back without notice, either in system updates or just pushed by the Play Store.

  • Is it wrong of me to think this part sounds a bit sus?

The year it was stolen the piece was appraised at between $35,000 and $50,000, DeLind said. He guessed that the value hasn’t changed much since then, but now given its story it may be worth closer to $50,000.

DeLind said his former business partner, who died in February, was distraught over the theft in 2018 and called police every year on the anniversary of the crime asking that they publicize it again in the hope the Picasso could be found.

The story of theft increases its value. And it just so happens to suddenly resurface (within the same city even) only after the business partner is dead.
