        I doubt it. Reduce both directions of car lanes by a couple of meters and suddenly you’ve got a bus lane. Alternatively if it’s narrower work it into a one way system and the lane that was the other direction becomes space for the bus lane.

          Many of the roads in my city are already one lane. They were laid down at a time long before cars, and attempting to run dedicated bus lanes through various neighborhoods would come at the cost of pedestrian space or simply not be feasible in the first place.

            Surely cars use those roads? So making them bus lanes instead of multi use lanes would take space from cars, rather than pedestrians.
