Caught “Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie.” Fantastic little indie comedy that while a bit slow at times had the audience in painful gut laughs at other bits.

Were you familiar with the series beforehand? I wasn’t and was confused how real the “man on the street” segments were

Nope, had never seen any. Just started watching bits online afterwards though.

Unsure how real those segments were as well but they cracked me up regardless.

The whole “if we didn’t go back in time this would be really hard to shoot” joke is where I first picked up on it. It’s also been weird seeing a bunch of YouTube people promoting the show

    Fiction: Palmer

It is a slice of life movie whose story is really predictable but it is carried by the cast. It is certainly worth a watch.

    Non-fiction:

    The Rescue

It is about the rescue of the soccer team from that cave that was flooding in Thailand. It is such an engrossing story that is so fantastic that if it was fiction no one would be able to swallow it.

Titanic: 20 Years Later with James Cameron

About half of this doc is really interesting and about half of it is Cameron tooting his own horn.

    It is ok.

The Hangover 3/5: Part of my “does this movie from my childhood hold up?” series. It’s fine, some jokes are still funny, others are offensive, but not quite the comedy revolution it once was

Landscape With Invisible Hand 3.5/5: I like it thematically and it has good jokes in spots. It avoids the indie movie trap of having too many plots which is good, but it does feel slow

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves 3.5/5: This is basically what you want a DnD movie to be. It’s silly, it has adventure, charming characters. It’s not a revolution but it is pretty good for what it is

La La Land 4.5/5: I found it hilarious that Regal started their best picture series with this. I really enjoy watching this movie right up to the Observatory dance and ending it right there as a hopeful short romance, give it a try sometime

RRR 5/5: 3 and a half hours of batshit action. This movie immediately leaves reality and is so much fun. They stop to have a dance number, there’s an intermission, there’s guys who are just fucking yoked. This movie is a constant joy to watch

Pulp Fiction 5/5: Chef’s kiss, perfection. The script, the acting, the plot, it all comes together in a package that tells an incredible story just loaded with little details. One of my favorite movies of all time and a joy to watch in theaters
