Send me a DM with your Matrix username requesting an invite and I’ll invite you!
(For those who don’t know what Matrix is, it’s like AOL Instant Messenger or other similar chat apps.)
Can I pls have an invite :3

I feel like explaining matrix as fediverse discord is more understandable :)
that’s so true - I’m just old and it reminds me of IRC, which reminds me most of AIM - I feel like Discord is too associated with voice chats and video games and that would be misleading, I think
but fair enough, I do feel like most of the discord servers I am should really just be converted to Matrix spaces
Hrmm, okay, maybe this is the push I need to finally learn Matrix. I’ll check it out!
let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way!
I recommend the Sable client for those looking for what to use for matrix!

- Desktop: https://github.com/7w1/sable/releases/tag/1.0.0
Slay!
I have no idea what that is, it once I boot up my PC after work, I’ll probably join.
I saw that there are servers and it’s like the fediverse. Is there a specific server that y’all joined? Or does that matter much since it all connects? I haven’t had a chance to look at available servers yet.
Yes, the Matrix space is hosted on a particular server, but it all connects so a user from one server is able to participate in a space hosted on another server.
Just shoot me your Matrix username if you’d like an invite!
Actually Matrix rooms aren’t hosted on specific servers at all! That’s why room and user ids are
:example.cominstead of@example.com.Matrix federation works differently from Fediverse federation :3
Oh, rad!
Just following up – could I please get an invite? I sent a DM a couple weeks ago but didn’t hear back
