If wasteful spending and fossil fuels become more expensive, less people can afford them, thus being more careful with their spending. Alternatives like electric vehicles and nuclear power become more desirable, and efficiency overall increases.

    Yeah I agree.

    It also absolutely wrecks low-income households in gas-dependent territories.

    I think it’s gonna exacerbate a lot of problems, but climate change is probably the one thing it helps against.

      Oh yea I agree that it’s going to have a negative impact on people’s immediate quality of life. But the short term bad financial consequences are going to be much better than the long term bleed of growing emissions and climate change. We are terrible at perceiving external slow changes, so it’s better that we experience the volatility of a dirty source of energy quickly.

    I completely agree.

    I also love when meat prices go up because I wager 99% of its consumption is completely unnecessary.
