What would the pay be for the park employees who clear the bodies?

Taking a ride on the sui-slide would be the last thing on my bucket list
Like this one?

Every master piece has its cheap knock off
No, that’s the original!
“Some early riders came back with lacerations to their bodies, whose cause was later determined to be teeth that had been knocked out of riders’ mouths and become lodged in the interior walls.”
A former Navy physician found that riders were experiencing as much as nine Gs of acceleration as they went through the loop.
v2 / r is a bitch.
Do you know which sponsor definitely won’t kill you in their slides? Raytheon.
This is like reading about early oval racetracks in the US, which were made out of wooden boards: the drivers were getting splinters flying in their faces, aside from a host of other problems.
It’s only a model.
I was relating to the action park slide which was very real.
Capitalism in a nutshell.
You get to choose from one million different equally sucky options.
Couldn’t really be higher on the list now could it?
Sure it could, you just wouldn’t be very likely to finish your list.
This is such wonderful dry British humor.
Well if you want a low income option you could always just go to Action Park!
I too played rollercoaster tycoon where every coaster was a euthanasia coaster!
If it had anything less than 10.0 nausea rating it wasn’t a real coaster
Oh my god. It was an instruction manual!
I can hardly think of worse ways to die, having all the time in the world to think it through on the way up listening to the “click-clack-click-clack” of the train on the rails, and then going over the falls… Maybe drowning and burning but that’s about what I can come up with.
Now this is whimsy.
And surprisingly effective!
book spoilers ish
How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu talks about this in one of the chapters. A disease is killing children so an amusement park was created for children to enjoy a roller coaster ride instead of dying in a hospital bed.
I sobbed through the end of that.
Ooh it’s got great reviews. I will check this one out, thanks!
It is a good book but I found it extremely depressing.
I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy when I was like 22 and it sent me into a decade long depression I never really recovered from.
So I think I’ll pass. Good tip tho.
Read some reviews first. It’s a lot more hopeful and pleasant than The Road.
Hey even The Road ended on a happy note.
After all that hardship and horror, the poor starving child was rescued and lived happily ever after with a family on a boat and they just sailed the white blue oceans as free as the sun.
My interpretation is that McCarthy was saying, yeah, this will happen, this has happened, and here’s your happy ending so you don’t slit your wrists after reading this.
The End.
Yeah 100%. I had to space it out between other reads.
I mean, it would work fine without all the loops. Just let the drop continue to the ground without leveling off.
Oh hey, the Mrs. Davis death machine actually has science behind it
The ride’s seven inversions would inflict 10 g (g-force) on its passengers for 60 seconds, causing g-force related symptoms starting with greyout through tunnel vision to syncope, and eventually g-LOC (g-force induced loss of consciousness) and death.
According to the National Institutes of Health, the human brain can survive without oxygen for up to four or five minutes. During this time, the brain is not capable of functioning at anything near its normal capacity. Extensive and irreversible brain damage may occur through cell death if oxygen levels are not restored quickly enough after this period.
What am I missing?
G-force taking the blood out of the brain.
If a person suddenly stops breathing there is still oxygen in their blood that their brain can utilize. However with strong g-forces the blood can be displaced out of the brain entirely. Think about where the feet will be on the coaster and where the blood would be pushed to.
Presumably they would be clinically dead at the end of the ride, that is they would have stopped breathing and their heart would have stopped beating. It may still be possible to revive someone with prompt medical attention, but for the job to be finished all you’d have to do at that point is nothing.
With my luck they’d have to Mitch McConnell me up for a second ride
Highly inefficient killing machine. It’s like they’re trying to avoid killing its passengers but failing. This failed as an euthanasia machine at the planning stage.
It’s just physics people.
Enough Gs and your brain and internal organs smush into mush, and I’m not talking Warren Gs.
Regulate
Honestly, I’m surprised this isn’t americas death penalty method of choice.
Too humane
Too whimsical
Ah yes, the whimsey of the American death machine….
It makes sense, ngl. No chemicals needed.
Invest once, and you can euthanize hundreds of people per day for years.
Why would it not be easier to just seal off a room, and cycle the oxygen out until it’s pure nitrogen gas. The people would pass out quickly, experience no real physical pain and just leave them in their for 30 minutes (well more than needed)
If there was an assisted suicide way to go, id basically just ask for the mask at the orthodontist then ease off into never worrying again.
It would be easier, that’s why no one has ever built this roller coaster.
That’s why no one has built this roller coaster YET!
It would, but that’s not the point in the design.
That’s bleak.
True.
And bleak.
you don’t need a whole room. that one guy made the coffin like devices.
They already make them, they’re called a Sarco pod
eyup. the one guy being Nitschke.
Nietzsche?
no. although im sure he would approve.
actual, nonconsensual murder
Wasn’t one woman found with marks of someone manually choking her? And one of the Swiss “entrepreneurs” (if you should call them that) was convicted of the crime.
Yeah that’s why I said just the mask would be fine with me. But if its assisted suicide then I imagine others would have other wishes. Possibly going as a group or who knows what
im not sure about the mask. maybe a helmet. you really want no chance of polluting with outside air. Also good if its not to constraining.
I mean when the doctor puts you under he uses a mask for a little until you’re out really and takes it off so you dont get brain damage and die, if he just left it on i dont see how it would stop working unless it ran out? Maybe I’m remembering something else
Sure but it gets taped down and such when your under and you are not worried about air getting in as much as so much aneshteia getting out that it will be to low a dosage. With nitrogen you don’t want oxygen extending out your awareness or triggers from soemthing like co2. You more worried about it getting in. Then also it just gets to a level of being tussed up which can wierd you out. I mean if you had to but I think the coffin/pod thing is a good compromise of comfort and being able to feel ate ease along with assurance on function.
Now you’re thinking like an engineer!
Just ask the germans
Yeah – that’s not how the gas chambers worked. They used Zyklon B, which was designed to be painful (or at least a welcome coincidence).
fucked up quote from a KZ worker
We knew when to get out the bodies by when the screaming stopped.
Where’s the fun in that?
This coaster is the kind of whimsy the world needs now more than ever
How is there not a movie about this thing lol
I don’t know about that, but watch “The Centrifuge Brain Project” on YouTube. It’s something.
Mrs. Davis
There is a short film on YouTube IIRC, saw it years ago but forget the name of it 😶
This is a great idea, as long as everyone agrees to wearing really effective adult diapers. Otherwise it will be a water ride.
The diaper is optional, but the cleanup crew would really appreciate if you wore it
You could easily make this a water ride.
