I mean, it was also a fascist or an ogre.
A fascist or an ogre you genuinely have a lot in common with
Including that she was an ogre, too. She would have expected Lord Farquaad to kill her once he found out.
The thought plickens!!
Fascist got that capitalist money tho
But there was something his money couldn’t get him: a talking donkey.
Well the short guy was also a total fuckwad
The reality of the situation for most short men who complain about women not liking them because of their height.
I never thought about it like this, but lord farquaad is absolutely an incel.
The “message” of Shrek is pretty iffy.
- Looks really are important
- Ugly green people should only be with other ugly green people.
- Not all ugly people are bad, but bad people are definitely ugly (short being ugly, of course).
There is also this thing called personality and Shrek was all aroud a better person.
Mmm that feels like a pretty big stretch. The whole point is that Fiona loves Shrek for who he is, not what he looks like. She didn’t become an “ugly green person”, because she was beautiful to Shrek and Shrek was beautiful to her.
Also, even if the idea was short=ugly (which I don’t think it was, more just a king with a big ego and small stature), Shrek 2 is completely centered around Shrek feeling insecure next to what turns out to be a conventionally attractive bad guy.
Not all ugly people are bad, but bad people are definitely ugly (short being ugly, of course).
Well there’s only one bad person in Shrek 1, so that’s not really a good sample. If we move to the sequels there’s Charming who’s good looking but also an ass.
If you make fun of someone’s physical trait that they have no control over, are you being a good person?
Yeah, and so was Fiona
Pretty telling that they think that that’s the only downside of the literal cartoon villain
It’s a joke, not a character analysis.
No joke is in a vacuum
What about the one with the spherical chickens
Shrek may have the personality of an ogre, but it seemed much preferable over that of Farquad’s!
Neither you chose to be, so who cares ?
