If this is in a work context, no problem. If it isn’t, that’s problematic.
Yeah for some reason talking about what I do at work isn’t an issue. Anything else, I’m faking explosive diarrhea.
I just said to my wife this week how so often I’m at an appointment or at the store and the person helping me starts with the polite “any big plans for this evening / weekend” and in my head I’m thinking “leave me alone, I don’t know what’s going on! Why you gotta put me on the spot like that? Why am I even here?”
“Hi I’m THCDenton, and I’m addicted to marijuana”
“Hi, I’m JC Denton and this is my favorite weed on the citadel.” Am I doing this right?
This just happened at my grandmother’s funeral of all places. Wtf.
Yeah, a funeral is not the appropriate time for this kind of bullshit.
If somebody expected me to participate in that, there would be another funeral.
I’m sorry… :( …were you close?
And what’s a fun fact about you related to the deceased?
That’s social anxiety not introversion.
Normally I fully agree with this sentiment whenever it comes up, but here I’m not so sure. I absolutely loathe talking about myself to anybody unless we’re already on a specific topic I’m interested in.
I’m so focused on mentally getting my story straight that I completely miss the other introductions.
And say a little something about what brought you here today!
I’m fucking leaving.
Sounds like the perfect opportunity to grey-rock some strangers. I am managing their expectations, not unlike a opossum playing dead
i end up one-upping everyone and feeling bad
Who am I? None of your business!
