I mean, Im sure at least one fan over the last 60 years have built a model and not gotten it to scale…
Like, it’s actually kind of of difficult to make a model to scale, especially for a small onenits not all going to be proportional. So even if you were drawing the line at “commercially sold” I’m sure some don’t meet the requirement to be within scale.
I get Shatner meant there’s no “life size” model, but if someone’s gonna be pedantic, it’s an excuse to be pedantic back.
@givesomefucks @cosmicrookie William Shatner always struck me as someone incredibly hostile to the fanbase which made him famous and the people who are the only reason anyone gives a damn about him anyway.
Every interview I have ever read or seen video of is just him belittling people and their fandom.
There’s always a scale, even if you have to Fourier transform it
He’s lying! It’s real and it’s out there!
But 1:1 is technically a scale !
There even is a saying something is ‘to scale’ meaning it’s dimensioned as original (1:1).
That’s not the question, he’s asking if you have one
Shatner is just a full on boomer. These are the sorts of answers you can expect from him.
Isn’t he like 95? I think he’s from the generation before boomers.
BTW, I saw an interview with him recently and he’s sharper than most people half his age. It’s incredible

Wat?
Ffs, that comment was for a different thread. Somehow my reply went here.
Why wound you ever need a 2:1 scale Enterprise?
Tho the regular crew would look adorable in it.
“The Enterprise!”
“The Enterprise!”
“The Enterprise!”
“Bah, it’s only a model…”
“Shut up!”
Well then what’s it modeling, huh, Bill?
Just answer the question, Captain.
I could make a toy with the wrong dimensions. That might really screw up this guys very serious engineering endeavor.
